Welcome to Ransome Bowls Club

The history of the Ransome Bowls Club is a long one and dates back to 1928 when it joined the Newark and District League and played at Elm Avenue, Newark. It was affiliated to the Nottinghamshire County Bowling Association on 1932. The Club was a founder member of the Notts. (E.B.A.) Bowls Association and in 1965 the Club became members of the E.B.A. Saturday League and the mid-week E.B.A. Leagues. We are also affiliated to the Nottinghamshire E.B.F.

Suffering continual vandalism of the Clubs greens and pavilions, the Club was forced to abandon the Elm Avenue sports ground and rent the excellent facilities at Sherwood Park for the E.B.A. matches and Beaumond Gardens for the E.B.F. matches. However once again we have taken the decision to move and we will now be playing all our E.B.A and E.B.F matches at Flowserve BC.

The Club is efficiently run by a management committee under the leadership of its President. New members are welcomed and novices and persons new to the game are given training by arrangement with the Club coach.

Fees and subscriptions are reasonable and compete with all other bowls clubs in Nottinghamshire. It is no longer an old man's game and the Club is open to a 'Junior Membership'that is up to 18 years of age and under including non-earning students which is free. Ladies are also welcome with a reduced subscription. To join this challenging game please contact a member of the committee.
